Be Who You Were Born to Be
You were born with traits, talents, gifts and intent. Yet instantly the world around you treats you like an empty vessel, one who needs lots of guidance and rules, instead of recognising you already come with an inner guidance system; your intuitive knowing. Slowly we take on the world’s perceptions of us as our reality. Now it’s time to uncover who you really are…
The signs that you’re acting more from nurture than nature are pretty easy to spot, should you choose to recognise them. They appear at all levels of your wellbeing; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. You have aches and pains, you have trouble concentrating, you crave time to do more of the things you love, and you may feel angry, or weepy, or frustrated or depressed. The point is, there’s more negative than positive regardless of how it shows up. The degree of misery that tips you into action will be different for each of you, and will depend on what aspect of your life it’s affecting. But when it comes to your overall happiness and wellbeing, being yourself - the person you were born to be - is always the simplest path to feeling better. Firstly recognise that there's two ways you present yourself in the world. There’s the cosseted, task focused version of you that operates day to day, lost so much in your thoughts that you are disconnected from both the real you and the living breathing world around you. Then there's the one that you get glimpses of now and again, particularly on a relaxing holiday. That more open, relaxed and present version of you is the one we need to work with. So step one is about tuning in. Once tuned in, you begin to recognise that life is like a fast moving river that is best navigated by allowing your feelings to light the way to your wellbeing. At our essence we are all energy, pure positive energy. Our thoughts and feelings emit and attract energy each moment of each and every day. The better we feel, the lighter we feel (the proverbial weight lifts off our shoulders) and the more clarity we have. When you learn to go with the flow and make feeling good your priority - above everything - you will live your best life; the one you intended. Make a start, commit to at least observing in your life what feels good and what feels bad. Make a plan to do more of the good, just inch forward if that is all you can do right now. Who you are on the inside, beneath any suffering, beneath any well meaning versions of your life loved ones have wanted for you, is the person who can do most for this planet. Go find that person and live a life fulfilled. For more insights from Shona, watch the videos and follow her weekly blog. |
