Evolving Our World
In today’s landscape, true prosperity goes beyond just making a profit. It flourishes when we allow our inner worlds—and those of our colleagues—to resonate outward. It’s time to challenge the norm of leaving our true selves at the door when we step into our professional roles.
Traditionally, fields like nursing and education have drawn individuals motivated by a deep sense of purpose. However, over time, the rules and expectations in these areas have dulled the passion and care that once thrived. We live in an age of endless information at our fingertips, where connection, transparency, and the pursuit of passion should be more accessible than ever. Yet, we often find ourselves on autopilot, constrained by outdated cultures, hierarchies, and societal systems.
I envision a new paradigm—one where pursuing your passion isn’t just encouraged but seen as essential. I advocate for more evolved and enlightened practices across businesses, governments, education, and healthcare—essentially, all the traditional constructs that shape who we are. This isn’t just about hope; it’s about taking action. Many of us are yearning for deeper meaning in our lives, and the dissonance we feel is no longer sustainable. As we reveal our inner desires, strengths, and talents, we create a ripple effect, evolving our world toward greater meaning, satisfaction, and collective prosperity.
Current Research
I’m endlessly fascinated by the possibilities for an evolved society and the incredible individuals and organizations showing us that systemic issues and norms don’t have to dictate our reality. Over the next few years, I’ll be diving deeper into two passion projects, curating and sharing these stories through my upcoming books:
Reclaiming Healthcare
This is my heartfelt call to return to the roots of compassionate, holistic care. I’ll explore innovative practices that shift our focus from merely treating illness to truly nurturing well-being. By drawing on personal experiences, real-world examples, and research, I aim to showcase a pathway toward a more humane and responsive healthcare future—one that honors both individual and community physical, mental, and emotional health.
Reclaiming Education
This is a vision for an education system that empowers individuals to reclaim their innate curiosity and potential. I’ll highlight learning models that prioritise creativity, critical thinking, and emotional development, with a focus on inclusive, hands-on, and project-based environments that support neurodivergent students, like my own kids. It’s about fostering intrinsic motivation, resilience, and a genuine joy for learning. I aim to present a vision for reshaping education so that future generations can lead meaningful and engaged lives in the modern world.
Both books are deeply rooted in my passion and personal experiences, which I’ve explored in my recent blogs: Beyond the Whiteboard: Rethinking Education for Diverse Learners and Our Collective Future and Crafting a New Vision for Healthcare: How Our Personal Journeys Shape the Future. If you’d like to contribute to the research, I’d love to hear from you!
Authentic Edge Consulting
In life, I wear three service-oriented hats—Parent, Writer, and Consultant—each contributing to my journey of authenticity, resilience, and growth. With over 25 years in business and a fulfilling career in senior management, I’ve been fortunate to play key roles in developing various ventures, honing my expertise in people and strategy.
